THE PHYSICAL RESEARCH LAB was part of The New Normal Lab series, which explored what behaviours/rituals/perceptions have changed over the course of 2021 *covid-19*. The Lab took place from january to march 2021.
While studying my Masters in Social Design at the Design Academy Eindhoven and being caught in video calls, I desired to break through the prevailing verbal and cognitive level of communication by dancing and moving together. I felt being forced to a creative output without having physical interactions and societal exchange. So, I started the project of the ‘Physical Research Lab’. Dealing with disembodiment, the Physical Research Lab is a series of workshops in which I created alternative realms of physical interactions. Collectively entering new hybrid spaces, allowed me and the participants to reflect on the contemporary conditions we were in.
